New Sentinel Visualizer Improves Data Analysis
(From HS Today; Vol. 4, No 11)
VIENNA, VA – November 2007 (Courtesy
of HS Today) — FMS, Inc., Tysons Corner,
Va. an In-Q-Tel portfolio company, has launched Sentinel
Visualizer, a product that utilizes advanced data visualization
tools.
Sentinel Visualizer introduces the capabilities of advanced
social network analysis, providing users the ability to see and
analyze complex relationships that exist within data. It
also empowers users to gain maximum value from data by using an
advanced set of tools. For example, data involving people
can be analyzed and manipulated to determine key relationships,
such as who talks to whom and who is related to whom.
Entities and events can be depicted visually so the user can see
their timing and create connections between seemingly unrelated
information and relationships. There are also geospatial
tools to map, analyze, and compare locations, and temporal
capabilities to view how situations have changed over time.
The program recognizes that all data is not equal in importance,
credibility, and reliability. It allows users to tag and
filter data, apply weightings to relationships, and
automatically redraw link charts, thus more accurately reflecting
reality and allowing analysts and researchers to maximize the
value of their data resulting in quicker and better decisions.
